Case
Communication devices for motorists can be very useful, but their functionality is often a bit restricted and they have very little use when the consumer is not on top of his bike.
Challenge
Twiins presented many challenges: We wanted to design a very identifiable and iconic device, as it was the brand's first foray in this line of products and it had to make a strong impact in order to get noticed. It had to be very easy to use, as it was extremely important that it would never make the user loose his concentration on the road. Additionally, we wanted Twiins to be a flexible product that could be used in many other contexts, and not only on top of a motorbike.
Solution
Twiins can work like a walkie-talkie, allowing two motorists to speak to each other while driving without having to take their eyes off the road. The shapes are very simple and identifiable, and the device can be easily manipulated while wearing thick gloves. It fits either side of the helmet and it features a central spine that can be quickly identified by touch, so you will easily find your way around the device.
Twiins isn't only useful when attached to a helmet, though. It's designed to look good and feel good in many other situations. You can, for example, attach it to your arm while you go jogging, and use it to listen to the radio or make a phone call.
