Edda Design

Case
Shopping carts are not very popular among young shoppers, who perceive them as something that's out of fashion. That often makes them choose alternatives that are clearly less comfortable, like carrying plastic bags. Aside from this, shopping carts have evolved very little in the last decades, and most manufacturers have made no effort to improve the old designs.

Challenge
We wanted to design a cart that would give an improved experience to users of traditional shopping carts, and at the same time appeal to new consumers that used to dismiss the idea of getting a cart right away. We had to appeal to the latent needs of the market to attract that diverse community of users.

Solution
Go Up adds many features to the design of traditional shopping carts: It has two sets of wheels, which allows the user to push the cart instead of pulling it, causing less physical strain, specially for old people, who can actually use it as a walker. It can be folded to occupy very little space, it has a special pocket for frozen items and it's has a modern look, with light and durable materials. All of these features managed to appeal a lot of consumers, and turned Go Up into one of our most successful projects to date.
