Case
ColaCao needed a new design for the 2011 version of their baticao, which changes every summer and is attached to 5kg ColaCao packages. Additionally, for this specific version of the baticao, ColaCao had obtained a SpongeBob Squarepants license.
Challenge
The baticao gets its name from the Spanish verb “batir”, which means “to whisk”, so its primary function must obviously be making the mixing of ColaCao and milk easy and fun. Aside from this, we wanted to turn our baticao into a truly useful device, one that would become more than a mere summer novelty for the kids. We also wanted to integrate it properly with the very popular SpongeBob license.
Solution
While most past baticaos were basically limited to mixing, our model, the Bati-Jarra, is meant to work also as a container that can be stored in the fridge. This way, kids can prepare a relatively large amount of ColaCao and have it fresh and ready to drink at any time. Aside from the mixing mechanism, it has a dispenser that makes filling the glass very easy, and you don’t even have to take it off the fridge. Thanks to this features, our Bati-Jarra provides a truly satisfying and useful experience to its users, and becomes much more than a novelty. The straight and simple shape of the device makes it ideal both for keeping it in the fridge and to suit SpongeBob’s square-y look.
